Care Guide
Our waterproof sheets are thoughtfully designed to be durable, practical, and made to handle everyday adventures. To keep them looking and performing their best, please follow the care guidelines below.
Care Guide
- Machine wash cold or warm (below 40°C / 140°F)
- Line dry in the shade or tumble dry on a low setting
- Do not bleach
- Do not iron
- Do not dry clean
- Do not soak
Always check the care label attached to your product before washing.
To maintain the waterproof barrier, avoid exposing your sheet to high temperatures or harsh cleaning products. Excessive heat can damage the waterproof TPU lining, which may cause it to separate from the fabric and reduce its waterproof performance.

My 2 year old insists on taking her water bottle to bed and we’ve had MANY leaks. I don’t even stress about it anymore because I know the mattress is protected.

Literally the first night we put it on the bed my daughter wet through. Mattress was bone dry underneath. So I can confirm it definitely works haha

Bought one initially to try it before ordering more. It survived a pretty decent overnight accident with nothing getting through to the mattress, so we’ve just ordered two more.

QUESTIONS, ANSWERED
Everything you need to know about NUMI
From waterproofing and washing to sizing and those inevitable 3am accidents.
NUMI brings a fitted sheet and waterproof mattress protection together in one practical layer. Your child sleeps on soft organic cotton, with a discreet waterproof layer underneath helping protect the mattress from wees, spills and everyday accidents. There’s no need to add a separate traditional mattress protector beneath it, so making the bed is simpler and more comfortable.
The waterproof layer is designed to help keep liquid from reaching the mattress during everyday spills and accidents. Protection extends down the sides of the fitted sheet, giving the mattress more coverage than a waterproof panel limited to the sleeping surface. As with any bedding, a correct fit and care according to the instructions help the sheet perform as intended; it is practical waterproof mattress protection, not a promise against every possible leak or circumstance.
Waterproof fitted sheets can make nighttime toilet training, bedwetting and unexpected accidents easier to manage, without adding a separate protector to the bed. Try NUMI’s two-sheet setup: layer two NUMI sheets before bedtime. If the top one gets wet, remove it and there’s already a clean waterproof sheet underneath. Less fuss in the middle of the night—and you’ll thank us at 3am.
NUMI was specifically created to remove the need for a separate fitted sheet and mattress protector. Waterproof protection is built into the sheet itself, making it a convenient mattress protector alternative with fewer layers to wash and put back on the bed.
They’re designed to feel like beautiful everyday bedding, not a plastic-feeling protector. The sleep surface is soft 300 thread count GOTS-certified organic cotton, paired with a breathable TPU waterproof layer beneath. The result is a comfortable, no-crinkle feel for little sleepers and parents who want waterproof bed sheets without the familiar rustle.
NUMI currently offers waterproof cot sheets and waterproof single bed sheets, making it easy to find a fit for a little one’s cot or a child’s single bed. Mattresses can vary in dimensions and depth, so check the measurements in the Size Guide before ordering. Browse Cot Sheets or Single Bed Sheets to explore the available styles.
Wash below 40°C. Line dry in the shade or tumble dry on low. Do not bleach, soak, dry clean or iron. Following these straightforward care instructions helps look after the cotton and waterproof layer.
Yes. NUMI waterproof pillowcases are designed to help protect pillows from dribbles, spills, sweat and nighttime mess while still looking and feeling like normal bedding. They’re a handy addition to toddler bedding and can make pillow care a little easier. Explore Waterproof Pillowcases.
It’s a two-in-one design: rather than putting a mattress protector on the mattress and a separate fitted sheet over it, NUMI combines both functions in one layer. Fewer layers mean quicker bed changes and less bedding to manage. Add in original hand-painted prints, and practical protection feels right at home in kids’ bedrooms across Australia.
Every NUMI print begins as original artwork created by founders Billie and Colby on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. Their hand-painted designs bring a personal, playful touch to useful bedding, with prints made to feel special in a child’s room and lovely to live with every day.
